Worldschool OS

Draft: this page is being reviewed during our private beta. Highlighted blanks are still to be filled in.

Terms of use

Effective [effective date]

The agreement

These terms are between you and [legal name of the company or person running Worldschool OS] ("we"), and cover your use of Worldschool OS. By creating an account you agree to them and to our privacy policy.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18, and the parent or legal guardian of every child you add. Accounts are by invitation during the private beta. Each account is for one family. Children use the kid view through your account, and you're responsible for how it's used.

A private beta

Worldschool OS is still being built, and it's free during the beta. Features may change, break or go away, and we may pause or end the beta. We'll try to give you notice, but we can't promise that the service will always be available or that your data can't be lost, so keep your own copies of anything you must keep, such as portfolio PDFs.

AI-written content can be wrong

Lessons, plans, quizzes and other content are written by AI. We check facts in kid-facing content automatically, but checks can miss things. Please review content before your child uses it. You decide what your child learns.

Compliance tracking isn't legal advice

We track homeschool requirements to help you stay organized. Laws change and our information may be incomplete or out of date. You're responsible for meeting your state's requirements, so please verify them with your state or local authority. Reports and portfolios are drafts for you to check, and using them doesn't guarantee that an authority will accept them.

Your account

Keep your password and parent PIN to yourself: the PIN is what keeps children out of the parent side. Tell us if you think someone else got in. Only save logins for outside tools that are yours to use, and check that those tools allow it.

Your content

What you add stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and send it to our service providers only as needed to run the app for you, as the privacy policy describes. Only upload material you have the right to use.

Fair use

Don't misuse the service: no breaking the law, trying to reach other families' data, disrupting the app, reverse engineering or extracting our prompts, or reselling the service. Don't upload anything that harms children.

Outside services

Quick links open services we don't run, and their own terms apply. Videos play through YouTube, so you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service when you use them.

Ending your account

You can stop at any time: email [privacy contact email] to close your account and have your data deleted. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or when the beta ends.

No warranties, and limits on our liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses from relying on AI-written content or compliance information.

Governing law and changes

The laws of [governing state] govern these terms. If we make material changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service means you accept them.
